[edit] License tagging for Image:Cavtrans3.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Cavtrans3.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Spam
Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Please desist. Yandman 14:43, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New version
OK, your classmate has redone the article. This is much better: At least it doesn't sound like an advert for the school. However, I'm going to have to remove the part on the alcoholic teacher until you get a published reference (see the Verifiablity policy) and the image is copyright tagged correctly. Have fun editing Wikipedia! Yandman 07:19, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tone
Please use tone appropriate for an encyclopaedia. Don't say "Our"! Yandman 11:51, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HELP
Me and my classmate are having lots of trouble uploading images and then displaying them on the site. we know the format is jpg but it says it is an unacceptable format, then when we do upload we can't get it to display. Image:EXAPLE.jpg....will not work ....please help.
- Make sure you fill in the necessary copyright tags. See the WikiPolicyPage on this. Yandman 13:24, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Final Warning
When you upload images, make sure you fill in the copyright tags. If you don't, they will be reverted. Moreover, persistent addition of images despite these warnings means you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia, and will not be able to contribute to the page on your school. I know you have good intentions, but these copyright rules are there for a reason. Thanks. Yandman 14:13, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- i am giving proper credit to where i am gettin these images, they are from our School district site http://www.rss.k12.nc.us/srcwelcome/800376.html, and nrhscavaliers.com, www.northrowan.com, i dont understand to what extend i am doing things wrong.

- Giving credit is not enough! You have to get permission in writing from the copyright holders of the image to license their image under the GFDL. Ask whoever is responsible for the site you took them from to give you permission, which has to be given with the image. Read Wikipedia:Uploading_images carefully. [edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nrhscav.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Nrhscav.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
