[edit] Sequel due to immense popularity?!?

The part titled development starts with "The immense popularity of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion followed with the development of a sequel..." From what I understood from the statement, it was saying that because of the show's popularity, they developed a sequel. On the other hand, one can also interpret it as "the popular show was followed with the development of a sequel."

I really don't think that it was because of the popularity that they made a sequel, as the storyline really communicates itself as a 50 episode series, besides, adding the words "immense popularity" makes the article sound too biased.

I suggest that someone either present a source that proves that it was really because of the season 1's popularity that R2 was made, or for someone to just neutralize the statement and make it less misleading. --121.54.2.11 (talk) 16:31, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, the cited source, the March 2007 and January 2008 issues of Newtype cite the immense popularity of the show as reasons for the new iteration. It has won several awards for most popular show and protagonist in several Japanese magazines including Animage so neutrality also isn't an issue. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 22:03, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

No, there are a few. Take Full Metal Panic! for example; There's a page for Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! and one for Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid. Now THAT'S probably a little bit of an overkill, since the second and third "seasons" are quite short.
This is probably done because if you look at the page for the first season, there are significant sections for the plot/characters (which would differ greatly from the second season) and production (which would also be very different). If they were to be merged, there would be a very long page with disjointed information, e.g. under each character may be a "first season" and "second season" section, etc, which defeats the purpose of having one article for it. --nyoro~! Another prime example would be Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex versus Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG, which are commonly considered two seasons in the same series – even the articles state as such. —Dinoguy1000 16:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposal in regard to the leak

I propose that, as the leak is not officially shown — and a good will to Sunrise — that we will treat anything from ep3 that was leaked as some rumors. Especially since there are rumor stating that they will redo the scene. 75.156.92.38 (talk) 07:45, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I have moved the contents of the Leak section to Broadcast because I believe that:

  1. a single event is not relevant enough to get an extra section;
  2. events like this (e.g. hiatus in the first season) went into the Broadcast section in Code Geass;
  3. that's where I would personally expect to find this information.

[edit] The spelling of "Zino"'s name

There have been some discrepancies on his name.

In the April Newtype releases at the beginning of March, he was identified as "Zino Weinberg". http://moe.imouto.org/post/show/18771/

On cards being handed out at the premiere event, his name was spelt as Gino. http://www.shareapic.net/content.php?id=6929961&owner=Koshimizu

Now recently, official postcards for R2 are calling him "Gino Weinberg". http://moe.imouto.org/post/show/22615/
