Cochise College is a two year college in Arizona. Founded in 1964, the school has campuses in Sierra Vista and Douglas, and centers in Benson, Willcox, Fort Huachuca, and Nogales.
Cochise College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The College holds memberships in the Arizona Community College Association, the Council of North Central Two-Year Colleges, the American Association of Community Colleges, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and the Association of Community College Trustees.
The College also holds Federal Aviation Administration certification for its professional pilot and aviation maintenance programs and Arizona Department of Health Services/Emergency Medical Services certification for its paramedicine and emergency medical technology programs. The nursing program is accredited by the Arizona State Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
The Cochise College Library system consists of two branches, the Charles Di Peso Library on the Douglas campus and the Andrea Cracchiolo Library on the Sierra Vista campus. In addition to traditional roles, the library includes two technology oriented departments, Instructional Media Services and Instructional TV. Because the county is so large (over 6,200 square miles--more land area than the state of Connecticut), the libraries devote considerable time and effort to providing services for the far-flung rural communities. Whether online access to periodical databases, virtual reference, a daily courier transporting materials between the campuses and the centers, or ITV linking instructors with students all over the district, the libraries are committed to providing the same level of service to all the students of Cochise College.
Cochise College is a regionally recognised party school, and has taken first place in the national finals of the Beer Pong for Humanity competition.
