[edit] cobalt!!!

Curious, do you have an interest in cobalt blue???

  • No, I actually used to have an online name on Dalnet CobaltFalcon, thought it was cute to be a metal animal. That eventually got shortened to cobalty :) I like the handle cause I can always get it whereever I sign up for things. Cobalty 08:10, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Improvements to Edward Hicks

Thanks for the magnificent improvements to the article on Hicks. Logophile 10:14, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Duchamp Marcel Rotative plaques verre 1920.jpg

The tag for this image said it is a 2D work of art. It is clearly a statue and there the image may be in copyright. There is a copyright notice on the image. Please could you confirm the copyright status. Zeimusu | (Talk page) 06:51, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thomas Cole

Thanks for uploading the Cole gallery! Did you use an automated tool to find all of these images of Cole's paintings? It must have been quite tedious otherwise... jdb ❋ (talk) 09:29, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Ah, great. Just curious --- do you know what the copyright status of the jpegs was? Clearly, the copyright covering the paintings has long since expired, but the photos themselves are presumably still subject and need unrestrictive licenses for use in WP. best, jdb ❋ (talk) 30 June 2005 12:30 (UTC)
I hadn't known about Bridgeman_Art_Library_Ltd._v._Corel_Corporation -- thanks! Very interesting. Thanks for uploading the images, then! best, jdb ❋ (talk) 5 July 2005 12:27 (UTC)

[edit] Visual list of American artists

I will restore it briefly, copy the wikitext and then email it to you ok? I cannot send the pictures obviously, but you will be able to see from the text the names of the pictures, which are still on the site. Thanks. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 12:37, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Duchamp_Marcel_Rotative_plaques_verre_1920.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Duchamp_Marcel_Rotative_plaques_verre_1920.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:25, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Duchamp_Marcel_Fresh_Widow_1920.jpg

I have tagged Image:Duchamp_Marcel_Fresh_Widow_1920.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:25, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
