[edit] Best to step back for a little while

Below a standard template warning which gets normally issued in content disputes, that go out of hand, even though it seems that you are "right". Just let other people chime in for a while. Proper channels in dealing with such things would be dispute resolution.

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. Agathoclea 09:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Edit warring? Hardly. A user keeps adding unsupported information to the article that uses forum threads for the sources. The decision to remove said text was supported by the moderators who took a look when I originally submitted the page for protection, and the application was solely refused on the basis that the re-additions of the material were not happening often enough. Instead they have intensified, and remain just as dubious as ever. I have repeatedly tried to instigate a commentary on the talk page of the article and am trying to work towards some fairly large changes to the article to improve its content, but no response from the user in question (who is posting anonymously and has ignored attempts to communicate via their talk page). If the article becomes protected I'm hoping that the said user will be somewhat forced to come forward and engage in a collaborative process, but it seems from where I'm sitting like it's just the usual trolling that seems to accompany most 360 game releases and nothing will cause this user to 'discuss' said changes. • Yes. it is not clearly vandalism but a content dispute, so WP:3RR applies. Anyway the other party has clearly stepped over the line and has been blocked. Agathoclea 10:11, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks. I'm trying to actually whip this article into shape since it seems like it's not getting much positive attention. It's very frustrating when a user makes contributiosn that are controversial without discussing them on the talk page. The 'latest' edition of this users additiosn seems to infer that the issues arent GRAW related at all, but are 'Launch console' related which again cements that the topic does not belong in the GRAW article, but rather, if anywhere, belong in the Xbox 360 issues article. • Are you trying to get yourself blocked? You are clearly in violation of policy yourself now. I have sofar refrained from blocking, althaugh someone else still might do so, on the basis that you are trying to resolve the issue on WP:AN/I. Note that a further revert/edit to the article will mean a block. Agathoclea 10:41, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
        • I'm not trying, but it seems I'm succeeding regardless :( I've left the latest revert there since I don't want to get my ass banned, but since both you, Steel359 and myself have all reverted this persons additions at some point in the last 24 hours and the person in question is repeatedly being insulting and making accusations about me it hardly seems like they're acting in a manner conducive to collaborative progress. I'm going to refrain from making edits until someone official does something so there's a clearly established position on this. 10:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
          • Good! Good things take time. Have a cup of tea and let the situation sort itself. I will be unavailable for most of the day, but the situtation will no doubt attract further attention, and if not I will take more appropiate steps tonight. Agathoclea 10:52, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who are you supposed to be?
