Talk:Coalition Provisional Authority Program Review Board

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Geo Swan,

When I have time to dig through the audit reports, I hope that the many statements referenced to the KPMG audit are better supported than the one that says "KPMG audit of the Development Fund for Iraq notes that of the minutes of the 43 Program Revew Board meetings they were able to review, only two were attended by the sole Iraqi member."

Your list included in the article brings this in to question, given that there are several Iraq ministry representatives listed. Your statement says that there was an Iraqi presences only twice in 43 meetings, and then by the same person. This is grossly false. Without even reading the audit reports, I'm willing to bet that statement was not made. KPMG is too competent a firm to make such a major error. Do you wish to offer up a specific reference?

Let me save you that work. Go to this page, select Development Fund for Iraq—Appendix—Matters noted involving internal controls and other operations issues during the audit of the Fund for the period to 31 December 2003. Turn to the last paragraph of page eight. -- Geo Swan 01:38, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks. As you will note, the audit states the sole VOTING member, while the article states the sole member. The listing of the PRB members clearly shows multiple members from the Iraqi ministries, and several were typically present. I am unable to agree or disagree with the audit, as I no longer recall which Iraqi members had voting authority. It is a bit of a stretch to blame CPA for the failure of the Iraqi Finance Minister to show at PRB meetings. Businessdr 04:10, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
