I know of an off-site review of this page at http://srehn.com/books/sb_coalescent.html but I feel it would be dishonest for me to link to it because it's on my site.

If anybody else feels it's appropriate to put that link there, do so, but I won't.

[edit] Plot Synopsis

Feel free to hack down or add to the Plot Synopsis. I feel I have summarized all the major events, but creative writing is not my strong point. I know those words can be rearranged more charismatically and aesthetically. I'll finish summarizing Part VI tomorrow.

As a side note, I think this book opens up a very interesting viewpoint on humanity; I can understand the historical indulgence in Regina's time was to attract the historically-minded. Baltakatei 08:45, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

That's a fine plot description. I thought I'd better drop a note to let you know why I made some minor changes:
  • Formatting. I thought the list format made the article look messy. I've changed it so that headings now separate the threads within each part. I'm not sure it works all that much better -- but it is more article-like. Any suggestions welcome.
  • UK spelling. It's a UK author, so I think it's more appropriate.
  • Part two - Lucia. I think this needs more explanation. It's the moment when the reader (and Lucia) realises that something is very wrong. Not only are her pregnancies short, they are repeating.
  • words/numbers -- it reads better to avoid digits, unless it's in a scientific context or dates. Similarly, I changed the roman numerals in the "Parts" to words simply because it reads better and looks less ugly on the contents table. - Motor (talk) 10:09:50, 2005-08-17 (UTC)
