Coates, Cambridgeshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Coates, in the English county of Cambridgeshire, is a small village on the edge of Whittlesey. On the edge of the village is a four-storey windmill in a poor state of repair. Coates has two pubs, two public play areas, a village hall, a local shop (Spar), a primary school, a church, and a chapel. The busy A605 road runs straight through the village, which causes much noise and visual pollution. Two bus routes run from Coates direct to the City of Peterborough, a journey which takes about 45 minutes. The primary school holds an annual community fair to celebrate May Day; the fair includes attractions such as maypole dancing, a dog show, and a car boot sale.
