Coat of arms of Holmestrand
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The coat of arms of Holmestrand was approved by Royal Resolution on 14. November 1898. It was created by the artist Andreas Bloch (1860-1917). It among other things points to the towns connections with the naval hero Peder Tordenskjold (in the middle of the white eagle is a picture of his ship Hvide Ørn 'white eagle'.) The official version of the coat of arms also features a golden mural crown with three towers.
