Coalpool
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Coalpool is a housing estate in Walsall, West Midlands, England. Most of the homes in area were built by the local council during the 1920s and 1930s. It is one of the most deprived parts of Walsall, with poverty and crime being two of the biggest problems which plague the area.
New hope has been given to the area through the work of Walsall Community Church, specifically through a Saturday morning "Kidz Klub" and an annual "Works Week".
Construction also took places during the 1990s of private houses on the north of the estate near Dartmouth Avenue, which unlike most of the interwar Coalpool consists of private houses.
