The Coalition of Northeastern Governors (CONEG) is a non-partisan organization of the eight governors of the Northeastern United States. The organization was founded in 1976 and is currently headquartered in Washington, D.C.. Currently, the association comprises five Democrats and three Republicans. The organization deals with regional issues and provides a forum for intergovernmental cooperation.
The current chair of CONEG is Governor Jim Douglas of Vermont and the vice-chair is Governor David Paterson of New York.
