[edit] Description

The mission of the Coalition of Arizona Bicyclists is to promote efforts that improve bicycling usage and bicycling safety within the state of Arizona by addressing law enforcement and transportation engineering issues through education, outreach and advocacy programs thereby enhancing the role of bicycling in local, county and statewide transportation plans. Most cycling clubs in Arizona are, in turn, members of the Coalition as they concentrate on organized rides and social activities.

Coalition areas of concentration include the following:

  2. Education: Teaching Effective Cycling based on League of American Bicyclists curriculum for Road and Mountain Bicycling, both co-ed and women-only classes.
  3. Outreach: Help for victims and/or their families, including intervention to secure full legal prosecution of offenders, when the worst occurs.
  4. Rail Safety and Access: Addressing bicycle issues of access and safety relative to Light Rail and Commuter passenger service that is planed, under construction or soon to be operational.
  5. Coordination of Events: Clearing House function of dates for rides and social events of other Arizona cycling organizations.
