Space Exploration
The Coalition for Space Exploration is a collaboration of space industry businesses and advocacy groups whose mission is to educate and inform the public on the value and benefits of space exploration and to help ensure the United States will remain a leader in space, science and technology - key factors that will benefit every American, strengthen our nation’s economy and maintain our national security.


The Coalition's Objectives
The help secure political support and budget resources for NASA and space exploration.
To promote public understanding and support for America’s space exploration program and its benefits among all audiences, in particular the Gen Y sector, while inspiring young people about technologically related fields like science, math and engineering.

Coalition's Structure
The Coalition for Space Exploration is an ad-hoc alliance comprised of two a Public Affairs team and a Government Affairs team.


The Public Affairs Team comprises the leading public communication professionals from each of the Coalition member organizations. It meets frequently by teleconference and face-to-face to fund, direct, and develop appropriate public outreach activities such as advertising, editorial and media placement efforts, research, reports, public appearances and so on.


The Government Affairs team comprises the Washington, D.C., representatives of each of the Coalition member companies and organizations. The GA team meets weekly to track the progress of the space exploration policy and engage in outreach efforts with congressional officials.


The Coalition is currently led by:
Mary Engola (Ball Aerospace) – Chair
Tracy Lamm (Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, Inc.) – Deputy Chair


The Coalition is managed out of Houston, Texas, by Griffin Integrated Marketing, just outside the gates of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.


The Coalition continues to recruit new members and partners in its campaign to increase support for the U.S. space program. Membership in the Coalition for Space Exploration is open to any U.S.-based company or organization that supports America’s human space exploration program and is willing to commit funding or other resources toward the cause of space exploration.
