[edit] Same as Cooperative Federation?

Is a cooperative union the same thing as a cooperative federation? Both seem to be associations of many smaller cooperatives, yet there are two articles. Gobonobo T C 05:33, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

In my understanding the two are synonomyous for practical purposes. I would suggest merging cooperative into cooperative federation. Federation is a more easily understood term leading naturally into important (but sofar neglected here) topics in cooperative economics like subsidiarity -- a concept recently identified by Klaus Fischer (Laval U., Quebec) as a major contribution of cooperatives to the theory of transaction cost economics.Brett epic 19:10, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
