[edit] Redirecting to Country Music Television

Considering that Country Music Television is certainly the most widely known meaning of "CMT", would anyone object to moving this page to CMT (disambiguation) and redirecting CMT to Country Music Television? This is how MTV is currently set up if you'd like an example of what I have in mind. Kaldari 18:53, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

I say go for it. The tag {{Redirect|CMT}} should be pasted at the top of the Country Music Television article if so. Lumbercutter 22:07, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

I think the disambiguation page should be the first. Maybe in US CMT = Country Music Television, but I think this is not the case in Europe, for example. Also, for me there are some meanings of CMT, that I see more important. Petr Matas (talk) 09:31, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

What does "CMT" typically mean in Europe? According to the guidelines, if there is "a well known primary meaning for a term or phrase, much more used than any other (this may be indicated by a majority of links in existing articles or by consensus of the editors of those articles that it will be significantly more commonly searched for and read than other meanings), then that topic may be used for the title of the main article, with a disambiguation link at the top. The main reason I suggested making Country Music Television the primary article is because the vast majority of articles in Wikipedia (perhaps 100%) that link to "CMT" are using the Country Music Television meaning:

Perhaps that is an indication of American bias on Wikipedia, but it does seem to suggest that most people going to "CMT" on Wikipedia are going to be looking for Country Music Television. If there is another common meaning of "CMT" (perhaps in Europe), you may have a good argument, but I am not personally aware of any other common meaning. Kaldari (talk) 15:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
