Re your helpful assist last week of this entry

I've been taking small steps to try to reorganize things there.
If you get a chance, would you take a look ?
At some point I'll be able to inset numbered references to specific content, that seems doable.
What I can't figure out at the moment is how to link items like
"idler drive" "belt drive" "direct drive" "transription turntable" "wow" "flutter"
... to internal Wikipedia entries.
For example the three drives mentioned above are clearly defined in the wiki entry on "Phonograph"... but they're located well down the page at that entry (and haven't got pages of their own)....
Anyway, if you get a look, tell me if I'm on the right path here or if I'm missing something obvious.
I'd like to get this into compliance if I can.

[edit] Chains of Reason
Hi Cmelbye - thought it might be better contacting you via this talk page. I've decided that I do need a new host for Chains of Reason after all, although I've decided to use Dreamhost. I'm very grateful for your offer, but I don't feel I can give the running of the site to an individual I don't know. I'm also concerned about what would happen if something unfortunate happened to you. However, would you be interested in providing technical advice/help? I would only call on your advice/help if I had first failed to find answers online, although I would understand if you'd rather only be involved in the technical side of things if you were in complete control. --Derrick Farnell 11:30, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

- I think this is a great improvement, so thanks for the suggestion. However, as you will see on the above page, users still have to work-out for themselves what number they should give a new chain. And if it is not a recycled number, then they have to first add the new chain title to the top of the list at the bottom of the page, so it would be good to be able to also automate this process of determining what number to give a new chain, taking into account the need to recycle the titles of any deleted chains. - P.S. Do you know a way of having a template automatically installed on every talk page, even talk pages with no content? - P.P.S. Hi - Should logged-in users of a standard MediaWiki installation not automatically get logged-out after a period of inactivity? They don't with my installation, but I'd like this to be the case, but can't find any info about how to do this - I've tried mediawiki.org, the mediawiki mailing list, the mediawiki channel, mwusers.com ... I left you a memo regarding that channel; you don't use it, but the two admins of the wiki want to start using it. We might use #pirateswiki instead, as there's another Wikia that goes by "PotC", but if they want an IRC channel too, same thing applies; best thing to do is probably to leave Angela a memo; she'll know what to do. ^_^ Guesty-Persony-Thingy (talk) 21:01, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello Cmelbye, how are you? I saw your Wikibooks logo submission, and I like it a lot. I was wondering if you could upload an alternate version of it without the text? We're trying to avoid logos that contain text, to resist the urge for different languages to translate the logo, and thus loose among all the languages. I don't want to see your logo get disqualified because of the text, plus without the text it will be easier to put into SVG format (hopefully somebody will be able to help with that).
