Clyde Arwood

Clyde Arwood (died August 14, 1943[1]) was the only person ever executed by the United States Federal Government in Tennessee[2][3]. He was convicted for killing an federal agent during a moonshine raid. Murdering of a federal employee is a federal capital crime.
Arwood was put to death by electric chair[4] in Tennessee State Penitentiary in Nashville[5]. He was 24 at time of his death.
Arwood was the last federal inmate executed under administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
