Club Universitario de Buenos Aires

Club Universitario de Buenos Aires, - University Club of Buenos Aires (also known by its acronym CUBA) is a sports and a social club with headquarters in the Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina's federal district. Even though members can practice numerous sports, it is popularly known as a rugby union club.
The Club was founded in May 11, 1918, by a group of university students as a mean of fostering camaraderie in a politics-free environment.
At present, CUBA has six branches:
- Headquarters, known among members as "Viamonte", due to its address, 1560 Viamonte street, located in the neighborhood known as "Tribunales", this term meaning "courts" in Spanish.
- Nuñez, located in the homonymous neighbourhood.
- Palermo, in the park section of that quarter.
- Fátima, in the town of Fátima, "partido" (county) of Pilar, in Greater Buenos Aires. Facilities are located in a gated community.
- Villa de Mayo, in the city of Villa de Mayo, "partido" (county) of Malvinas Argentinas, in Greater Buenos Aires, approximately 30 km NW of the city of Buenos Aires.
There are other branches located in the province of Neuquén, near Bariloche, a city known for its skiing facilities: one is a cottage located 80 km of Bariloche, near the town of Villa La Angostura. The second one is cabin located in the Catedral skiing centre, near Bariloche.
CUBA's official site include links to the following sports sections: basketball, boxing, diving, fencing, skiing and rapelling, football, golf, hockey, swimming, yachting, windsurf, paddle-tennis, "paleta", fitness, rugby union, squash, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, waterpolo, judo, and yoga.
Even though many founding members were university medical students, CUBA is popularly considered a lawyer´s club. However, members include professionals from a wide array of fields.
