Club Social, Deportivo y Cultural Español is a football club from Buenos Aires in Argentina. It currently plays in the Primera B Metropolitana, which is the regionalised third tier of Argentine football. It is commonly referred to as either Deportivo Español or simply Español.

The club was founded in 1957 with the name Club Deportivo Español on October 12th. The date was chosen as its foundation date to commemorate the discovery of the new world by Christopher Columbus.

The club made quick progress through the lower leagues arriving in the Primera in spectacular style in the 1985/86 season, it finished in third place, a feat it would achieve twice more in the 1988/89 season and in the Clausura tournament of 1992.

The club was relegated from the Primera at the end of the 1997/98 season. Since then it has played in the 2nd and 3rd tiers of Argentine football.

Following its relegation to Primera B Metropolitana in 2003, the club was declared bankrupt and disbanded, but the fans got together to recreate the club under its new name Club Social, Deportivo y Cultural Español. The Argentine Football Association allowed the new club to take over the fixtures of the old one.
