[edit] History

The Club was founded by Carmelo Santoro on May 21, 1950. The first players and fans of the team were employees of the Ferrocarril General Urquiza who needed a ground to play football on Saturday afternoons. It was an amateur club until 1970, when it became affiliated to the Argentine Football Association and played its first season in the Aficionados category that was later renamed Primera D Metropolitana.

Ferrocarril Urquiza has played in Primera D Metropolitana, the lowest division organized by the AFA in the Buenos Aires region, never to gain a promotion to a higher category. The club does not have any title whatsoever.

[edit] Stadium

The stadium is located in Villa Lynch, San Martín, Gran Buenos Aires. It has capacity for 500 spectators and doesn't have artificial lights. Prior to Ferrocarril Urquiza, this field was used by the defunct Sportivo Palermo, where famous goalkeeper Amadeo Carrizo first appeared.

[edit] Team kit

The official shirt is light blue and white and the away shirt is blue. It is currently made by Brazilian sports manufacturer Penalty.
