Club Eden
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Club Eden was the first dance music "superclub" in Africa. Located at 54 Waterkant street in Cape Town, South Africa.
Eden opened in 1990 and ran for one successful season, ushering in a new era in nightlife for South Africa. Conceived and founded by the UFO collective Eden played a small part in Cape Town's early social re-integration, so important to the post-apartheid club generation. Eden's introduction of Techno into the South African music scene helped lay the foundations for what later became Kwaito and the emerging Msanzi House Music scene.
