Club Atlético San Martín are a football club based in the city of Tucumán, Argentina. They currently play in Primera B Nacional, which is the second division of the Argentine Football Association league system. The club were founded on November 2, 1909.
San Martin played every season in the Nacional championship between 1968 and 1985. They have also played 2 seasons in the Primera División, in 1988/89 and in 1991/92.
The club's most notable victory was a 6-1 win over Boca Juniors in the Bombonera on November 20 1988.
After several years in relegation, San Martín will play the Apertura 2008 in the premier division of Argentine Football. The team lead the B Nacional tournament to receive its award of a spot in Primera División Argentina.[1]
