[edit] KDSL

[edit] PROD

I'm informally proposing that this article either be deleted by "prod," that it be revamped into a general article on semi-pro soccer in Canada, or that companion articles be written for all semi-pro leagues in Canada. For a comparison, see the work that's been done for Canadian professional leagues, starting at the top of the pyramid. I'll leave it up to someone else to "prod" it: this comment should not pre-empt a proposed deletion. In any case, if this article is kept or renamed, its layout stylistic quality needs to be boosted. It's content could use a boost too. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:29, 28 February 2008 (UTC) On second thought, after looking at the official web site, KDSL is hopelessly non-notable and should not exist here under its own name. I'm prodding it. A one-paragraph mention of this league might be appropriate for a larger article about Canadian minor-league soccer. Individual teams can be mentioned in the pages for their respective cities under "sports and recreation" or "entertainment." If the author or anyone else objects to the proposed deletion they can simply remove the PROD template within 5 days. However, if the article doesn't morph into something notable quickly, expect an Articles for Deletion proposal. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 04:43, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] KDSL

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article KDSL, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Welcome to Wikipedia

I didn't check until just now but I see you are a new editor here. Welcome to Wikipedia. I know you are probably exited about making your first article and disappointed that it's been proposed for deletion so early. Please keep editing and contributing. I'm guessing you live in Ontario and that you play football (soccer) or follow the sport. Please take a look at existing pages that deal with topics you enjoy and know about and improve them. If you know a lot about semi-pro soccer in Canada, consider making a page or series of pages about it. Consider joining an existing wikiproject, such as Wikipedia:WikiProject Football, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada, or Wikipedia:WikiProject Ontario. Your input is important. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 05:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Arthur Zaslavski

A tag has been placed on Arthur Zaslavski requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. CiTrusD (talk) 06:40, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kitchener and District Soccer League and Ontario Soccer League

I see you are working on articles related to minor Soccer leagues in Ontario. As you do so, be sure to prove their notability or the articles are at risk for deletion. Also, if someone adds a {{notability}} tag to one of these articles, the tag should not be removed until the notability concerns are addressed. The notability tag's purpose is to bring attention to the article so that editors will improve the article and establish that the article is in fact about something notable. I am looking forward to both articles demonstrating notability. If they cannot, I will propose a merger or deletion of those articles that are not notable. Given what is there now, will make the most sense, that way information will not be lost, only consolidated. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 14:47, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Football/USA and Canada task force

Consider joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/USA and Canada task force. You have knowledge of Ontario football that would help the overall project. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 22:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting cleanup tags is counterproductive

I assume you and I have the same goal: To make a better Wikipedia. You have been repeatedly removing cleanup tags from articles without actually cleaning them up. This is counter-productive. The cleanup tags are their to alert other editors "Hey, this article needs improvement." If there is no cleanup tag, they may not notice and may not add useful information. You are also ignoring the notability issue. Continuing to ignore it puts the articles at grave risk for a deletion action which may or may not be warranted. It's far better to address the notability issue head-on rather than ignore it.

I intend to restore the tags in a few days if the tags are still necessary. My hope is you will improve the articles and the tags will no longer be necessary. If you need more time, say, you only work on these on weekends or something, just say so and I'll hold off. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 00:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Changes counter to consensus: Niko's nationality

I feel we've reached consensus and a reasonable compromise. Please discuss on the talk pages of the respective articles before making changes counter to consensus. xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 12:53, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of Wilfrid Laurier University people

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at List of Wilfrid Laurier University people. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. GreenJoe 22:08, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
