User talk:Clockwork Apricot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Half-Life 2: Episode 4, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Half-Life 2: Episode 4. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Image tagging for Image:TheInfiniteQuest.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:TheInfiniteQuest.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Zampano.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Zampano.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Human Nature

Please use the move function, instead of copy-and-paste, when renaming a page. This avoids splitting the page history in several places. In addition, the title "Human Nature" has not been officially confirmed for the upcoming television story based on the novel, so moving Human Nature (Doctor Who) to Human Nature (Doctor Who novel) is premature. If the title is confirmed by the BBC, it will be fine to move the page — but please use the move tab instead of cutting and pasting. Thank you. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 04:26, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I have redirected Human Nature (Doctor Who novel) to Human Nature (Doctor Who) as further disambiguation is not required. The links to Human Nature (Doctor Who) which you have redirected to the 'novel' page have been reversed. Please do not redirect any more of these links. (Incidentally, another page, entitled Human Nature (Doctor Who episode) and created by User:Coleberg, has been also been redirected by Josiah to the List of Doctor Who serials as the episode's title is currently unconfirmed.) Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Silver Nemesis 18:04, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
In hindsight, I should have done a little research on whether the title was actually confirmed or not first. At least when it is confirmed, we'll have the page ready! Clockwork Apricot 22:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Turns out you were only a few days early! I'm fixing the relevant links. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 07:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of Doctor Who serials

I'm desperately trying to avoid breaking WP:3RR here!

According to the press release at Outpost Gallifrey (click here), 'three new episode titles' will be revealed in DWM issue 380. As this isn't officially on sale until 1 March 2007, please refrain from adding links and/or articles for Blink (Doctor Who), The Sound of Drums (Doctor Who), Human Nature (Doctor Who episode) (the latter two currently redirect to List of Doctor Who serials) or any similar titles. Silver Nemesis 17:10, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

As the press release at Outpost Gallifrey (click here) states, DWM issue 380 will be released on 1 March. Unless you can find a reputable source that can tell me that subscribers recieve the magazine early, YES, you have to wait until Thursday. Silver Nemesis 17:38, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Please don't fill my talk page with external links. It's very, very annoying. (Tip: if possible, try and edit all in one go, not several times.)
Within the last half-hour, it appears that the episode titles have been confirmed by a reputable source at Outpost Gallifrey (click here). Forum posts are NOT reputable sources. With regards to Human Nature, several major changes need to be made to existing pages which can only be carried out by an admin. I will request for this to be done. [edit] Aether (Metroid)

I noticed you placed a dated prod template on Aether (Metroid) suggesting that it be deleted, but it doesn't look like you followed the procedure. In particular, you didn't leave a reason to delete the article. Could you clear this up? — The Storm Surfer 09:38, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Anotherlife_audiobook.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Anotherlife_audiobook.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 19:05, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Horaizan

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Horaizan, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.rbooks.co.uk/product.aspx?id=184607438X. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:44, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Borderprinces_torchwood.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Borderprinces_torchwood.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 06:01, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Everyonesayshello.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Everyonesayshello.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Speedy deletion of List of Torchwood comics

A tag has been placed on List of Torchwood comics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. richi (talk) 00:51, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
