[edit] Changes
NielN, I seem to be having a problem with some users editing the article, adding their external links to their youtube accounts. This is not for information, it is for personal gain. Can we somehow try to stop this? Check the history. Thanks. Draygonia (talk) 05:35, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for helping me out on the article NielN. I am only good at the regular text typing, I am not used to the Wikipedia formatting options, so if you are able to, please help me format the article correctly as I add more information :) Thanks ~Dray~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Draygonia (talk • contribs) 00:35, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for locking the article. I will look into building a correct article so that we can get it featured. -Darius/Draygonia-West- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.230.115.75 (talk) 15:23, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
I would suggest that if those who wish to add their forum links can add them, but do not remove others links. The WIKIWAR is annoying and is just angering other sites that wish to have more visitors, such as CWZ, TCW, PMW, HE, etc. And for the record, I would not try to contact my Air Base as I am not using govt computers. I will kindly ask you to back off. @NeilN: Perhaps there is a solution to this issue of editing? -Darius/Draygonia/West- —Preceding unsigned comment added by Draygonia (talk • contribs) 00:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- This is not the place to add links to forums. From WP:EL, Links normally to be avoided, point 11:
Links to social networking sites (such as MySpace or Fan sites), discussion forums/groups (such as Yahoo! Groups) or USENET.
- Direct links to pages hosting videos explaining the mechanics of clown walking would probably be acceptable. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 01:14, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Please discuss changes here before simply just reverting the article back to a less cleaned-up state. Thanks. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 22:12, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
I would like to change the article by adding content from actual sources with citation and references. Please do not remove the citations if next editors are going to revert back to a reference-less article. Also regarding the discussion about the shoes of clown walking. I think to remove the promotional effect on the article, we will just simply "list" all the shoes that are used for c-walking. Also please do not use referenced written content without the same references when you edit. For example reference [1] has been cited beside many of the writing in this article however the reference was deleted when the article was reverted and the content remained EXACTLY the same. In my latest edit I included all of the sites refered to in the last few versions making the article unbiased towards any of those particular sites. Promoting none of them since the article simply states and lists that such sites do exist, and none is better than the other. (Same with the Shoes)
I am glad I helped making this article more useful. Also Neil, if the other editors revert the article to the previous version, without stating anything on this discussion page, may I revert it back? --Spade
- You can revert up to 3 times in 24 hours but I suggest you try to engage the other editors in conversation before it comes to that as constantly reverting the article may lead others to conclude you are violating WP:OWN. I will also keep an eye on the article for any unconstructive edits. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 00:48, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
All the references using cwalkerz.com just seem to go to the main page of a forum. I will be removing them soon as they are not reliable sources --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 22:55, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
The recent edits seems to delete all the previous references and completely changes the article not for the better, with less detail and more of advertisements for the websites listed rather than listing all website for the sake of contributing unbiased. information. Please do at least post on this discussion page to discuss with other editors before making any changes that you think is necessary and give reason to back it up. -Spade
[edit] External Links
Before adding a link please state how it meets Wikipedia's external links guidelines. Thanks. --NeilN talk ♦ contribs 15:10, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
The method of "search google for cwalk links" seems like this section really should just list one or two example cwalk community links. It's quite absurd to describe the process of using a search engine and describing how the largest communities are the first results from Google, when simply put, a few links of reliable communities would suffice.
