Cloverfield Park is a large park in south Santa Monica, California. It is adjacent to the Santa Monica Airport and located on Ocean Park Boulevard in the Sunset Park neighborhood of the city. It contains numerous athletic facilities such as tennis courts, a recessed soccer field, track, volleyball courts, basketball courts and a full sized baseball field. It has a recently renovated playground with a rocket ship play structure on the northern end of the park as well as a smaller playground on the southern end. Cloverfield Park's popularity can be attributed to its close proximity to Grant Elementary, John Adams Middle School, Will Rogers Elementary as well as large residential areas. The park is commonly used for civic events, festivals and parties in the barbecue pit area. Cloverfield is widely considered to be one of the safer parks in the city of Santa Monica.
