"Close To You" is Hikaru Utada's 1st single, 1st single in English under the name Cubic U, as well as a cover of the original The Carpenters song "(They Long to Be) Close to You". It is also her collaboration single with Burt Bacharach and Hal David. It was released in January 28, 1997. Strangely, Utada wanted this single to be released only in Japan. This is now a rare collector's item as it is one of Utada's earliest releases.
