Clooniffe

Clooniffe is a small townland of Moycullen located about 7km from Galway city in the Republic of Ireland. Clooniffe has, in the past supplied some of the greatest hurlers for the Moycullen team such as Jimmy "Red" Donoghue, Mattie Donoghue, Larry Bohan, and Dick Mulkerrins. It is well known in the Moycullen vicinity that Clooniffe has a timezone all of its own. This is apparent from the all-night card games played there on a regular basis. It has often been claimed that Jimmy Red has been seen saving hay at 3 in the morning or Matt, his son, pucking a ball against a wall in the early hours.
