Clongriffin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Clongriffin is a new locality, still under construction at April 2008, within the Northside suburb of Donaghmede, Dublin, Ireland, and accessed from Grange Road and by a tree-lined avenue at Fr. Collins Park on the Hole-in-the-Wall Road. For history and general notes, see the Donaghmede and Baldoyle articles.
[edit] Composition
The development comprises houses and apartments, started in 2005, along with educational, retail and service facilities, including a multi-screen cinema, and forms part of the Northern Fringe Development, approved by the local authorities to provide new accommodation for Dublin on what was "green belt" land. It is in the postal district of Dublin 13.
Housing developments within Clongriffin include Beau Park, Grange Lodge, Marrsfield and Station Point.
[edit] Transport
The new housing and associated amenities were planned from the beginning to have access to "park & ride" facilities, an existing railway station at Portmarnock and a planned local rail station, Grange Road, along with a bus link to the Malahide Road Quality Bus Corridor (QBC), as well as road access, via the N32, to the M1, M50 and Dublin Airport.
