[edit] History

I think this could do with information about the history of the clipboard. Has it been present in all GUI evnironments, or which was the first (or first few, as the case tends to be with GUI features) to implement it. Nick Fel 09:28, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Seconded. We need links to clipbaord software applications. I'm gonna try creating a category, but I don't know any except Textpad. Mathiastck 09:48, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Huh? What has a text editor to do with a feature of the GUI?Geira (talk) 13:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the shift-delete/ctrl-insert combos were the original clipboard manipulation keys in the first versions of Windows. The alternate ctrl-X/C/V ("borrowed" from MacOS) were added much later. Since Microsoft were [1] by Apple for "look and feel" issues in 1988, and I started using both Windows and MacOS in 1987 I'm pretty sure that these were not available in Windows 1.0 and probably not in 2.0. Hard to dig up documentation on this via Google though.Geira (talk) 13:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
