1880s photograph (by Henry Cousens) of cliffs overlooking the Bhutanatha Temple Complex on the eastern end of the artificial lake in Badami, Karnataka, India. (Oriental and India Office Collection, British Library.) The Kappe Arabhatta inscription is carved on a cliff at the north-eastern shore of the lake.
