Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) is a global, nonprofit, standards developing organization that promotes the development and use of voluntary consensus standards and guidelines within the health care community.
CLSI has over 2,200+ volunteers from around the world who are renowned experts in their field. These volunteers collaborate on the development of globally applicable best-practice standards and guidelines for the clinical laboratory and health care communities. CLSI’s library of 180+ documents covers areas of quality management systems, general laboratory practices, microbiology, clinical chemistry, molecular methods, hematology, point-of-care testing, automation and informatics, evaluation protocols, and immunology and ligand assay.
In addition, CLSI has over 2,000 member organizations from around the world. Member organizations represent hospitals, laboratories, physician’s office laboratories, clinics, and other health care settings as well as teaching universities and hospitals who educate future pathologists and medical technologists. In addition, CLSI's member organizations represent government agencies, professional societies, in vitro diagnostic manufactures, independent commercial laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, LIS vendors, and biotechnology firms.
