Climatotherapy

Climatotherapy - type of treatment for various types of diseases where a patient is relocated to areas around the world where climate is more favorable for recovery. For example, a person with sickle cell disease might move to a lower altitude to reduce the number of sickle crises.

Climatotherapy is particularly effective in the treatment of psoriasis and other skin related disorders. One study found that after 4 weeks of treatment, the overall Psoriasis Area and Severity Index score decreased by 81.5% ScienceDirect Journal. Although climatotherapy has been clinically demonstrated as viable, research in this area of medicine is still limited.
