Clifton Gilliard is the current athletic director[1] and was the 20th head college football coach for the Prairie View A&M University Panthers located in Prairie View, Texas and he held that position for the 1999 season. His career coaching record at Prairie View was 2 wins, 8 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him 18th at Prairie View in total wins and 15th at Prairie View in winning percentage (0.200).[2][3]
Gilliard also played football at Prairie View as a halfback. He was a three year letterman and played for Prairie View's 1958 national championship team under William J. Nicks, and was named all-conference that same year.[4]
