From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clifton Forebay (or Clifton Court Forebay) is a reservoir 3 mi (4.8 km) long and 2.5 mi (4 km) wide[1] formed by a sunken artificial island of the San Joaquin River in eastern Contra Costa County, California near Byron and the San Joaquin County border. It is a major California water resource as the bay is the pumping location of major water collection for human consumption, agricultural and industrial use.
