Cliff Heathcote

Clifton Earl (Cliff) Heathcote (January 24, 1898 - January 19, 1939) was a center fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the St. Louis Cardinals, (1918-1922), Chicago Cubs (1922-1930), Cincinnati Reds (1931-1932) and Philadelphia Phillies (1932). Heathcothe batted and threw left-handed. He was born in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania.
In a 15-season career, Heathcote posted a .275 batting average with 42 home runs, 448 RBI, and 191 stolen bases in 1415 games played.
Heathcote died in York, Pennsylvania, at age 40 from a pulmonary embolism.
