[edit] About Colin Mochrie

I am not exactly sure when it first aired. I think I seen it in 2004 though. He played the man owning a steamroller and he ran down a guy in a New York Fries costume, and when he went by, it showed the new york fries logo smushed into the pavement. You can't expce3 much with me being really young, and bad memory. and my cheesy excuses... By the way, I'm a Canadian too. Saskatchewan. Where you can see your dog run away from home for a week. Sorry I can't do much more for the Colin Mochrie Article, but I can confirm it's happened. SBKT 19:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About Mikhail A. Fedonkin

Sir, with all due respect to you and to prominent scientist Dr. Fedonkin I beg you to edit article you created according to wikipedia standards. It is not a place for CV or resume. You are doing disservice to Dr. Fedonkin and I hope he deserves brief, no nonsense article. In present form it can be marked to quick deletion at any moment. [edit] Archon X Prize

Hi Clerks. I don't know how to email you, so I'll respond here with this note and you can scrub it after you've read it. I follow this area closely. FYI The two cited documents on the accuracy requirement ARE in conflict. Both should be authoritative; however, clearly one has a typo. Dr. George Church, senior prof. at Harvard, a founder of the Human Genome Project, (and apparently a Wikipedian), made the change from 10,000 to 100,000. That was reverted, and that I re-reverted. Whether Dr. Church sits on the Archon X-Prize Board is unclear since he may well be one of those whose team will compete for the prize. In any case I am inclined to think that Dr. Church does know what the correct number is. And so I'll go with him as 1:100,000 for the correct number. Frankatca 04:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] LoPbN removal of Rod Walker bio lk

That turns out to be a good removal, in light of

  • ProD deletion
  • only 2 lks to him, also on lists
  • GTest of
85 of about 383 for "Rod Walker" poet -site:wikipedia.org -Heinlein

but if you knew that yr summary shld have said more, & if you didn't you shouldn't have deleted. RdLks on lists are often good things, and this guy was not your typical teen-ager who got a kick out of writing one poem. Thanks, since alls well that ends well; i'm rem'g the other two lks.
--Jerzyt 03:27, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Three of your 5 removals from LoPbN on the 7th (UTC) were improper, and have been reverted. You've been making good contributions, but removing sparse info w/o research damages WP; please don't repeat that.

[edit] Griffin Poetry Prize

Hi Clerks. The Griffin Trust's only official logo is the red gryphon of the Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry, which administers the Griffin Poetry Prize. The Poetry icon which you are fond of (and it is a nice icon, indeed) is a promotional graphic that the Griffin Trust has used for the past few years, but it doesn't officially represent the prize or the organization. In fact, the Griffin Trust does not use the Poetry piece in isolation *without* the red gryphon, on their Web site, in print, etc. The Poetry icon was not used at the Trust's inception, and it might not necessarily be used in future. Leave it on the page if it's important to you, but if the Griffin Trust dispenses with its use in future or replaces it with something else, they might wish to replace the graphic with either the official red gryphon or something else. [edit] Reincarnation Application

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Reincarnation Application, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). [edit] World Association of Ugly People

This is terrific just the kind of article I love. Are you ugly yourself by any chance? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:48, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

IN fact I believe you are interested in geology. The List of geologists is excellent I've just added a few images to some of them. There are so many topics I often forget about yet are still here on wikipedia. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:00, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Keep up the great work. I noticed you created a Tibetan related article. You are welcome to join WikiProject Tibet which I established if you are interested. I'm currently adding all the towns and villages. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I'd noticed the Canadian geology connection. I had read your DYK'S before not knowing they were by you. Geology and earth science is also of high interest to me studied it for A-levels but my Bsc degree is in human geography. I'm very into ecology and aim to venture into this field eventually. Yes i added an image to Otto Wilhelm Hermann von Abich and the book to De re metallica earlier -it sounds like a German death metal band doesn't it. Keep expanding your field as much as possible. It s apleasure to read. Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:49, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

As I have a huge workload across many projects I only stubbed the articles Mining in Wales and Mining in Papua New Guinea . Feel free to expand the latter if you have time. I'd be interested in a world mining series of mineral extraction by all the major mining countires. E.g Mining in South Africa etc etc which are all missing. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:01, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bagan (Godzilla)

Bagan (Godzilla) wasn't really a speedy deletion candidate for nonsense. The article didn't read very well, but looking at the history, there were two edits that significantly degraded the article. I reverted those edits and removed the speedy delete tag. I would suggest checking the history of an article to make sure it's really nonsense and that there isn't already a good version to revert to.

The article probably still needs some cleanup and referencing, but there are always cleanup tags for that. (See Jet Jaguar for an example of the cleanup tags. Also see Jet Jaguar for an example of a Godzilla-era hero that's just a little too silly to be believable.) --Elkman (Elkspeak) 15:26, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Your comment here, while no doubt in earnest, is fundamentally misinformed and erroneous. WP:R is the appropriate policy page. A redirect is not the same as deletion, given the information that is retained and can be accessed, as well as recreated. I appreciate that your comment was made in good faith, but I urge you to ensure that you are properly informed before you make implicit accusations on the user pages of well-established editors.
