SIMON PETER CLEGG (b. 10 September 1969 in New Zealand) is a London-based senior business exec focussed on the world of media, publishing, entertainment and intellectual property (IP).
Simon is managing partner at literary investment company, Fleming Literary Management LLP (*[1] Fleming Literary). Associated companies include financial group Fleming Family & Partners, creative investor Fleming Media, and James Bond owner Ian Fleming Publications.
Intellectual property owner Fleming Literary invests in and commercially develops unique literary brands. The company works internationally across film and TV development, publishing, and digital and new media. Investments include authors Willard Price and John Creasey. Genres for possible acquisition include authors in action and adventure, mysteries and thrillers, crime, science fiction, fantasy and horror. Fleming Literary deals with literary agents, copyright owners (often heirs to deceased authors), and publishers.
Qualifying as a lawyer in 1992, Simon moved to London in 1997, where he held senior roles in media, sports and “IP.” Prior to co-founding Fleming Literary in 2006, Simon was managing director at IP consulting firm TAEUS Europe, formerly ran a global IP licensing business at telco Alcatel Lucent, based in Paris, and held senior legal roles in media and TV.
Simon holds law and commerce degrees, and a masters of commercial law, from the University of Auckland, and an MBA from London Business School.
