Clegett is a meteorology major at the University of Oklahoma. He currently works at the National Severe Storms Laboratory with the Severe Weather Warning Applications and Technology Transfer group within the Warning Research and Development Division.

Any of his posts made in public forums express his opinion, and not necessarily the opinions of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Weather Service, National Severe Storms Laboratory, Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies or the University of Oklahoma.
