[edit] To Rebecca
Reb: I can understand how you feel about this innocent victim, but this article does not strike me as ever being destined for Featured Article status. The story is simply not complicated enough: it was a tragic but random accident. The notable parts are simply too simple to merit FA. Ever. Focus on a major disaster that killed a bunch of people (like an Earthquake or somehting) or a protracted struggle with lots of back-and-forth. Again: this article will never be FA. -- 64.175.41.78 11:19, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- I agree - even though somebody who seems a nice person dies; it is no reason for a wikipedia article to be written about then. Heck; if I died, would an article be on here about me? I think not.
- I will put this article up for deletion, once again, up soon. Orbitalwow 17:59, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- She isn't notable because she was "a nice person" who died. Did you read the article? She's notable because of the legal aspects and the media coverage. There are 17,500 hits on Google for her name [1], her story was featured on Australian Story on August 7 [2] [3], and there are 175 hits on Factiva for her name.
- This wouldn't have anything to do with your opinion, would it? Seriously, I think you should give it further thought and do a little research before carrying on with this plan of yours. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 18:30, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Also, the most recent AfD was unanimous bar the nominator. Please read this too. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 18:37, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

- I agree with Sarah_Ewart. Clea Rose's death is significant because the driver who ran her over was being chased by the AFP (Australian Federal Police) at 90 kph through what is effectively a pedestrian precinct, the security cameras in the area were not working, and the AFP later refused to talk to the media. This implied the possibility of some degree of AFP culpability in Ms Rose's death. It was the subject of a half-hour documentary. Maybe, in order to avoid more people putting the page up for deletion, it might be worth re-ordering some of the information to emphasise the controversial aspects of the case.Yowie 10:21, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notable
I agree due to the AFP involvement this is a worthwhile article. I think it well written and referenced and was going to nominate it as a Good Article. However I fear that with 2 citations needed it may fail due to that alone. Please nominate this article when the citation tags are dealt with. Regards SeanMack 06:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- It's coming. It needs a good copyedit, and when I get the chance to do that, I'll probably go straight for FA status. Rebecca 06:29, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Fair enough - not everyone wants the hassle of FA, but if you have that in mind I won't get in your way by nominating it for GA. Good luck. SeanMack 15:04, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Moved to "Clea Rose"
I have just moved the article back to Clea Rose. I understand Prestor John's reasoning that the article is essentially only about Rose's death and the subsequent developments, but I know of no precedent anywhere in wikipedia for the title.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 14:39, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
