Cleveland Independent School District

Cleveland Independent School District is a public school district based in Cleveland, Texas (USA).
In addition to Cleveland, the district serves the cities of North Cleveland and Plum Grove as well as portions of San Jacinto and Montgomery counties.

[edit] Recent Dress Code Controversy
Because the dress code was viewed as hypocritical and ineffective by its students, a dress code reform committee spoke at the May 2007 CISD School Board Meeting for a new revised dress code. They came surprisingly prepared with surveys, statistics, and professional attitudes. They were in impressive attire, some even in ROTC uniform. One student spoke in behalf of the students and one teacher spoke to voice his opinion as an employee. Around 10 other students gave educated and well-spoken responses to questions the board raised. As a result, the School Board voted to change the dress code.
