[edit] History
The company was founded in 1877 as a fabrication business.[2] In 1969 the company was acquired by Trafalgar House.[2]
In 1990, it merged with the Dorman Long group, which by then had also been acquired by Trafalgar House. In 1996 it was renamed Kvaener Cleveland Bridge following the acquisition of Trafalgar House by Kvaerner.[2]
In August 2000 a management buy-out of Cleveland Bridge took place establishing the business as independent group specialising in the design and construction of major bridges, buildings, refineries and offshore structures.[2]
In 2002 the company was appointed the contractor for the roof for the new Wembley Stadium.[3]
