Cleomaceae is a small family of flowering plants in the order Brassicales, traditionally included within the family Capparaceae, but recently raised to a distinct family when DNA evidence showed that the genera included in it are more closely related to the Brassicaceae than they are to the Capparaceae. Alternatively, the Cleomaceae may be included in the Brassicaceae.[1]
The following genera are included in the Cleomaceae:[2]
- Cleome
- Cleomella
- Dactylaena
- Haptocarpum
- Oxystylis
- Podandrogyne
- Polanisia
- Wislizenia
