Clearwater Lake is a lava dammed lake located in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. The lake lies within Wells Gray Provincial Park, which features numerous small volcanoes, extensive lava flows, trails and waterfalls.
Clearwater Lake formed when Dragon Cone erupted, producing a 15 km (9 mi) long lava flow. This lava flow dams the southern end of the lake at 3 m (10 ft) high. This flow is just one of the examples of volcanic activity that have occurred in the Wells Gray-Clearwater Volcanic Field since the last ice age.[1]
