The Clear Lake Volcanic Field is a volcanic field beside Clear Lake in California's northern Coast Ranges. Active between 10,000 and 2.1 million years ago, it has produced numerous lava domes, scoria cones and maars. Cobb Mountain and Mount Konocti are the two highest peaks in the volcanic field, at 1,439 meters (4,721 feet) and 1,310 meters (4,299 feet) respectively.
The field's magma chamber also fuels a geothermal field called The Geysers, which hosts the largest complex of geothermal power plants in the world. These can generate approximately 750 megawatts — enough to power a city the size of San Francisco.
