Greetings! I've been at Wikipedia since the spring of 2006, and work on a variety of topics, mostly in the life sciences and Canadian issues. I also do some Recent Changes patrol. I am User:Clayoquot on Wikimedia Commons.

Articles to which I've made big contributions include:

I've also had lots of fun collaborating on Common Raven, Humpback Whale, Cougar, and Lion.

Articles I've gotten undeleted:

A special article:

  • Oliver Schroer. I have long wanted to finish this article, but I can't. Our dear Oli, whose music infuses my life, has cancer, and I can't bring myself to write about it.

In real life, I am a woman in my early thirties, and work in the field of software interaction design. Clayoquot Sound (pronounced "clack-wot", not "clay-o-quot"), is a beautiful wilderness area on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Here area few userboxes from back when I was into userboxes.

[edit] Some thoughts on Wikipedia

I am most active on uncontroversial topics. There is much to be done, and many wonderful stories yet to be told, that do not require any political acumen or a thick skin. Writing for Wikipedia can be a lot of fun.

I do have wikipolitical opinions though. I fret about the credibility of the mainspace and have discussed some of my concerns in depth in my blog about Wikipedia. Our credibility comes from our transparency, our openness to others, and our fidelity to reliable sources. These principles may sound obvious and ubiquitous, but in reality people have had to fight for them and, well, I continue to fret. Let's see if the link to my blog manages to stay up.

Yours, Kla'quot
