[edit] Template documentation

This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopedic content.

Usage

This is an in-line template. Place the template immediately after the material in question, as one would do with a footnote. For example:

This sentence needs clarification.{{clarifyme}}

The name {{clarifyme}} may make more sense if you visualize it reading "Please clarify the preceding text."

The above text will cause the tag [clarify] to appear inline.

The text "clarify" will be linked to Wikipedia:Please clarify, which explains to readers what the tag means.

Categorisation

Adding this template to an article will place the article into the category "Wikipedia articles needing clarification". To find all such articles, see Category:Wikipedia articles needing clarification.

Parameters

This template allows an optional date parameter that records when the tag was added.

One can specify the date manually. For example, to date the tag in the current month, enter {{clarifyme|date=June 2008}}.

One can specify additional text to appear before and or after the "clarify" tag. For example

{{clarifyme|pre-text=?}}

will cause a question mark to appear before "clarify" like this[?clarify], and

{{clarifyme|post-text=(complicatedjargon)}}

will cause text to appear after "clarify" like this[clarify(complicatedjargon)] .

Useful redirects

The alternative names {{huh}}, {{what}} and {{unclear}} are all redirects to this template.
