[edit] Work in Progress

Students and staff from the school are trying to edit our entry and learn about how to use Wiki in the process. We will only use factual information from our publications, our website, and other sources. We are currently working to properly cite everything. Patience would be apperciated. Suggestions to improve?

We are trying to improve as we go. We are currently editing and adding additional material and citations to the article. Please be patient as we learn our way around wiki. Vbofficial 12:39, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Impressed

I'm really impressed by the progress you are making. I suspect you are close to a "B" and if you keep improving at this rate then a "GA" is in sight. You can get help by going for a "peer review", by posting a request of the schools wikiproject assessment page or I could help too. As I said .... impressed Victuallers 21:51, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, at least one person doesn't seem to have your optimism. I guess we will have to try to find other sources, which may or may not be out there. Vbofficial 20:56, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. We are trying. Vbofficial 00:47, 18 May 2007 (UTC) We are trying to get more outside sources. It is really hard in such a small school. Much of the old records and material has been lost or not kept. We have a secretary that is about to retire who is doing some more history research for us. We are also trying to work on the notable alumni/faculty sections and add demographics as our next step.

  • This article is coming along nicely. I've removed the banners as the article has demonstrated its notability and is well referenced. I'm a little concerned about the copyright for the school song. Do you have permission to reproduce the lyrics? There is a certain amount of repetition with some names appearing in both the list of notable faculty and also in the list of notable alumni. I suggest you include them in the list of faculty and mention at the same time that they were also educated at the school. Some of the more cryptic abbreviations (at least for non-US readers!) need explanation or inter-Wiki linking, eg, K-12, etc. Keep up the good work! Dahliarose 23:40, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. We will look into your concerns and we will address your other concerns. Copyright of school song? Reproduce lyrics? I just know it has been the school song since the beginning of time (1940) for our school district. I don't have any other information as to where, when, how. Vbofficial 03:05, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
If the school was only founded in 1940 then the song is probably still in copyright. Copyright expires within a given time frame after the death of the composer (it's 70 years in Europe, but might well be more in America.) If you can't get permission or find out the name of the compiler it is probably safest to remove it. Dahliarose 08:24, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
It has come to my attention after talking to several "old timers" that the song was written by a former student back in the 40's. I have her name. However, verifying that will be hard. We are going to dig into the old yearbooks. Vbofficial 13:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Easily a B. Looking amazingly well referenced. I see you keep chipping away at it. You should consider whether you want to continue to GA. When you feel you have all that you can then request a peer review or go straight to GA. You are earning that barnstar Victuallers 15:00, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] lacking infobox

I noticed in the last several days a new icon has appreared indicating this site has no infobox. I also noticed it has appeared on many other sites. The funny thing: all the sites I checked do have infoboxes. How do we go about correcting this? Vbofficial 12:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
