Talk:Clavulanic acid
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As far as I know, clavulanic acid is not a competitive inhibitor of beta-lactamases but rather a suicide inhibitor. That is important because this second class of inhibitors produce an irreversible action.
When did Cl. acid come into use? It would be extremely useful for all the wiki pages on antibiotics to contain info on dates of discovery, patent, first use (experimental), first use (widespread), by country, etc., etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.195.160.192 (talk) 06:15, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
