I simply moved the list from european classical music. I am not endorsing the entries, or any omissions. Stirling Newberry 17:50, 22 October 2005 (UTC)

I added two obvious omissions that came to mind. Liszt, of course, was famous for his Hungarian Rhapsodies, as well as Italian- and Spanish-based compositions, all of which availed themselves of folk tunes. And Chopin was the first great Western classical composer to introduce Slavic elements in his music. Young Kreisler 21:19, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

What I have done is only a first draft. I'm sorry I didn't manage to use every single name from the suggested list, but here they are again, in case you want to fill in the bits I missed:

  • Frédéric Chopin
  • Aaron Copland
  • Henry Cowell

  • Jean Sibelius
  • Christian Sinding
  • Igor Stravinsky
  • Bedřich Smetana
  • Ralph Vaughan Williams
